Bathstore....

hi

When we bought our house the bathroom had not long been purchased from the bathstore. The toilet seat is a soft close effort but it came loose and in order to re-tighten it you have to sort of twirl a round plug till it tightens then slot the seat back onto the plugs that stick out of the round thing - technical or what! We had no problems the first few times but last week when my OH tightened it, he twirled the round thing the wrong way and there was a clunk as what we think was the washer inside hitting the floor. So now the seat is hanging on, on one side which is a nightmare cos you just end up slipping off it! There's no way of getting into the middle of the toilet to out it back on as it's all built in and it'll only pull out an inch or so. The couple that moved out kindly left us the receipt, well the family did as the couple had passed away, so i have that and all the paper work. It was done in March 2010. Have i any chance of going back to the bathstore with the problem? I don't think that they fit it as i can't see any installation charges on the breakdown.

Failing that, any plumbers know how on earth i can fix it!

Thanks!

  • You can ask, but I think you'll come away disappointed.

Also, the rights are with the purchaser of the item - not you unfortunately.

    I'd ask though - don't ask, don't get :)
