HI,
just a quick one.
I sent an item and the buyer is saying that they didn't get it, so I need to refund them.
Do I need to get them to open up a case against me first in order to get my ebay commision back, or do I just refund them first without them doing anytihng?

You need to refund, then send your buyer a cancellation request.

got to the transacation page on your paypal for the item. You will have option to refund towards the bottom. if you refund via the original transaction page it will show up in ebay as being refunded....so no need for anyone to open a case. Then email the buyer to say you have refunded and that you are sending a request to mutually end transaction because item is showing as unpaid now on your side and on the buyers side. hopefully buyer will agree to end and there will be no problems and all sorted.0
