ESA and SSP

I am in receipt of ESA income based. I do not receive any money form them as my partner works more then 24 hours per week, however he has been signed off sick by his GP for 4 weeks and will be paid the SSP and this could be the case for a while.

I contacted the ESA about my claim due to a low income as the SSP payment will not even cover the rent but I have been told that I am not entitled to any ESA Income based benefit as they still class him as working over the 24 hours per week.

Can anyone tell me if this information correct!!???!!!!

Was your partner in receipt of working tax credits before? If not he needs to put a claim you. You can also get housing and council tax benefit.

In terms of ESA if your award is nil then you do not have a claim with them.

Your pregnancy will not give you entitlement to anything extra until you are 29 weeks.
