Hi, I am a woman of 25, i have had license for just over 2 years with 2 years no claims bonus. i have just bought a house and stressing with ridiculas car insurance quotes. please can you help? my problem is in june 2005 while coming out of car park i was edging forward and slightly touche dthe car in front, being a new driver i got out and apologised knowing it was my fault, i accept this. what i cannto accept is him claiming for whip lash when there is no way this can be the case. i received solicitors letters afte rthe incidet however i havent heard anything for 18 months. he has not made the claim. do i need to inform my new insurance company of this incident? all it says is have you made a claim in the past 3 yrs to which the honest answer is no as he hasnt. so do i need to say what has happened? even tho i would contest it in court? i am really annoyed as this is pushing up my insurance quoites even though i know i am good driver!!!
sorry to ramble on but can anyone help? i really cannot afford 1000 quid for insurance

How do you know that? My car was back ended by a 'thought you'd gone off guv' driver. hardly felt anything but there was damage all the same! Try a broker. The onliners are only looking for cherries and you aren't one of them.0 -
I would answer no to the question of claims in the last 3 years. As far as you know there hasn't been a claim so you aren't lying.
I think you need to call as many companies as your patience will allow. There are enough co's using 0800 no's to get you a decent quote. I find talking to someone gets me a better deal than using online searches. I call about 20-30 co's each year for 2 cars and a motorbike and every year our insurance gets cheaper, we never pay more than the previous year.
Just for comparison. One of our cars is a Focus 1.6, hubby is 35 with 3 points and I am 31 with a claim on our other cars policy. The Focus has 1 yr NCB and at renewal in November we paid roughly £165 for fully comp.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
iam i young driver 19yr old with only 1YRs no claims hastings qouted me £950 to insure a merc c220 deiesl third party so iam sure they could do a reasonable qoute for you even with claims against you another good one is quinn there quite reasonable for fully comp0

funkster01, that sounds like 'cash for crash' (google the phrase). Its rife these days. Although Cash for Crash tends to be the person who was in the wrong hitting someone else on purpose and claiming all manner of things from whiplash to a written off car etc.
This guy probably saw an opportunity to make some money/get time off work but then realised he'd messed up & it wasnt going to work (did he get out of the car move etc?)Mummy to two girls, 4 & 1, been at home for four years, struggling to contend with the terrifying thought of returning to work.0 -
yeah he got out of the car, there were two other people on the car, it was definitely a case of that, sorry to people who have being injured but he would hardly have even felt this slight bump, really annoyed about it!0
