Reconnecting extensions to master socket?

Been having problems with my broadband, an engineer put a new faceplate on my master socket, one with a built in filter. He also disconnected the other extensions to see if that would help.
It seems that my problems were actually down to the old router. My master socket is in a cupboard in my hallway but i'm not getting a great signal so I want to move my router back in to my living room. Spoke to the engineer and he said he can't come back as there are trackers on the van and it's too late now to say that he had to go back to finish the job off.
Can I reconnect the extensions easily myself?
The engineer said to try and get a broadband fault raised with my ISP and as part of that he'll move the master socket to my living room. Thing is if the fault is found to be on my end i'll get charged.

Yes, it's just two wires (the bell wire is not required). No free lunch, and no free laptop

Did you miss something there?
If you Google 'wiring phone extensions' it will tell you all you need to know.
But it doesn't actually matter which colours you use, as long as you are consistent at both ends.No free lunch, and no free laptop

No I didn't miss anything, I was unsure as to whether that was 2 wires per extension as I have 5 of them. I have no idea what i'm doing and don't want to mess it up.0

It's 2 wires per extension, terminals 2&5. Blue with White bands and White with Blue Bands respectively. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Phone cables often come with 2 pairs or more so that the same cable can be used to run 2 or more phonelines or a spare pair in case the pair in use is damaged.0
