in Motoring
Hi,
I posted this previously in the money savers arms, I didnt know there was a motoring section.
My OH has just got his Honda NSR motorbike back from his Ex. It was stationary for 3 1/2 years, and now the key wont turn in the lock.
He has disabled the steering lock, but the key still wont turn. We have tried WD40 etc but still no joy.
It has an immobilser, and someone suggested changing the lock if it didnt have one, what can I do instead????
We are desparate to get this in working order and as much as its loved, it has to be sold to repay the local authorities for one of the overpayment !!!! ups (but thats another thread entirely....much gnashing of the teeth...)
any suggestions greatfully recieved
many thanks
Sarah

Sounds like the barrel has seized. I don't think there is much you can do except replace it. :-(0

Hi, thanks for your help.
Do you is it a big cost to replace the barrel? and would I be able to use any mechanic/ do it ourself or would I have to go to a Honda garage?
Will go to visordown asap
many thanks

Will not be a big job,if you are not confident a local m/c mechanic should do it quite cheap,if you want to do it yourself their are loads of owners sites you could post on for advise.
