Claim Showing on MY NCD Certificate even tho it was cancelled
last year a taxi driver reversed into the back of my car, So i contacting my insurance company{CO-OP}straight away to make a claim. But having got home and checked the car i decided to ring up and cancel the claim as no damage was visible. low and behold i get my NCD Certificate today showing that i had made a claim even tho i cancelled it!! NOW my new insurer ESURE have said i may be penilised for this, as i had put i havent made any claims in the last 5 yrs!! i had no-protected NC with the co-op but never lost anything as i never got anything related to the claim etc, cert still shows 4yrs NCD...just a bit worried im going to be hit with a big bill from ESURE. cant understand why it says i even made a claim! the other party made a claim with his insurance taking full responsibility and my insurer wasnt even asked for anythink. what do i do if ESURE decide to charge me extra??

Try phoning the CO-OP?
Get them to correct it. Did you declare the incident to Esure.
Even though you didnt claim you must still declare it for 5 years.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Costly mistake, if you report an incident regardless of fault then you will need to declare it for 5 years and usually pay extra.
You could try arguing that because there was no damage to you, it should not count as an incident. But I don't think you will have much luck with that.0 -
Every mention like this get recorded on their (common) database and will be used against you next renewal.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

It was a claim. You then cancelled the claim but it was still a claim. A claim is just that - a claim. Regardless of whether they paid it out or not it was still a claim.
I have a cancelled claim in my claim history with my insurer but I still declare it when looking for other quotes.0
