Hi - I've moved house (at last) and am now living in Caerphilly. I'm getting the hang of the area (I've only moved from Cardiff) and have found the Morgan something park by the castle, caerphilly common, a nice walk on Rudry Mountain. I'm quite sorted as far as knowing pubs go - as I have friends in the area. These friends however, are not the ambling in the countryside types. :p

So (to get to my point) what lovely little hidden treasures does 'Philly hold for me? Any variety of answers would be gladly received.:D

i have some walking books - will have a look later whether there's anything funky in your area.

do you want things that you can do entirely on foot, or are you ok driving to get to the walk?

  • Come walking by me on the old Bedwas Navigation Colliery site, beautiful views of Caerphilly and Machen, Rudry, Waterloo. Also up on the old site is a beautiful water pit, when there has been rain there is a waterfall down into the basin and it really is beautiful.

Also by me, The Rhymney River Walk, absolutely beautiful, see the Herons by the riverside.
