Anyone else not heard from Simply Switch???

I used the link on this website for Simply Switch to change over my gas and electric. Decided to sign up with Scottish Power and put in my bank details for the direct debit.

I haven't received an email confirmation from SS or Scottish Power. I have emailed SS requesting a response/update. That was 4 days ago and I have still heard nothing.

I am very concerned now and have no other way of contacting SS. I have emailed MSE to see if they can help and got a "general" email in return suggesting I try the forum.

Anyone else had problems or anyone got any ideas...

    Hmmm - If you wanted to switch to SP's 'Online Fixed Price Energy March 2014', it was withdrawn at the end of last week, although over the week-end they were still accepting customers who had previously got a quote directly from their own website

    I fear that with the time lag involved with Simply Switch playing pass-the-parcel, you may have lost out - Your best bet is to ignore Simply Switch and contact SP direct
  • I have been checking out these 3rd party websites recently in connection with my energy supplies, and my home insurance.

    They are a useful way to get an overview of what is available, but totally confusing if you decide to click on the links.

    I prefer to deal directly with the organisation which is going to provide the service.

    It might be worth contacting your bank to cancel the Direct Debit authority which you gave - there will be plenty of opportunity to reinstate it later if the need arises.

    When I used Simplyswitch, they sent a confirmation email the next working day.

    When I contacted them by email over an issue, they responded with a resolution within 2 working days.

    Perhaps there is an issue with your email? e.g. their emails are being rejected by an overactive spam filter?

    You could always try calling them on freefone 0800 011 1395, or geographic number 01942 710 941. (Monday to Friday - 9am to 5pm)
