Hi
Can I run Calibre on my tablet PC running Android 4.0.4 or is there a similar program available for Android?
The reason I ask is that when I go to the download page for Calibre, Android is not mentioned for OS.

Short answer is no.
What tablet?
I've just bought myself a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 16GB with 3G, it's the biggest mobile phone I've ever used! :rotfl:
I've only had it since the weekend but I'm growing to like it more every day.
I use Calibre on my Mac to manage my book collection a lot of which are technical manuals in mobi/epub or PDF format. I struggled to download my books either wirelessly or via USB using Kies or Kies Air the Samsung programs to do this.
While searching in the Play Store for Calibre I found another app called Calibre Companion. It's not free, it costs £1:99 but it's well worth it. Once installed and with my tablet connected to my home wireless network Calibre can see my tablet in exactly the same way it can see my Kindle when it's connected via USB and all I have to do is choose the books I want then click on send to device and that's it, job done.
I prefer free apps but having struggled, it can be done but it's a pain, I think Calibre Companion is worth every penny.
Once transferred to your tablet the books are listed when you open Calibre Companion on the tablet along with their cover pictures. When you select one and tap the read button it opens whatever book reading app you have installed or asks you which one to use if you have more than one.One by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.0 -
Ha! just looked at the link you posted and it mentions Calibre Companion.
All that typing for nothing :rotfl:One by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.0
