Bought a fake item on eBay

Listed as genuine but definitely fake. I've checked it against a genuine one I have, plus looked online at other discrepancies.
Do I report it to eBay or to Paypal? I remember reading on here that one of the two will make you return it, and the other one will make the buyer prove it is NOT a fake, which of course suits me better....
Other customers have also negged this seller saying the items were poor quality, etc.

Did this not set the alarm bells prior to purchase?
Not sure who make you return it and who makes the seller prove it isn't fake.
Why does it suit you better to have the buyer prove it is not a fake, are you wanting to keep the fake item and have your money refunded?
If its fake why not report it to the Police or trading standards, then they might not be able to con other people in the future.0 -
ebay - seller has to prove its real
paypal - buyer has to prove its fake
also should point out that on a few occasions ebay have asked the buyer to return the item for refund.S.P.C member 1662 - target £3000
