Can anyone recommend a ‘Home Emergency’ insurer, for a property, which is let out to tenants?

Many Thanks

British Gas do a version of their service care for landlords. your tenants get a number to call without having to bother you. It can be extended to cover plumbing, drains & electrics as well as heating. From memory it also includes the annual gas inspection.

haven't used these myself so can't comment, but £5 per week for the amount they cover looks pretty good!! When my boiler warranty runs out at the end of the year i may sign up myself, unless you can find someone better for me!

Use the BG scheme myself for my rented property. Has worked well, and tennat has told me that she dosent care what its costing, just keep paying as she has called them out several time in the last year, and the engineer told her the parts alson had run into 100's let alone his time / call out (new build houses for you....!!!!)

But seriously though it has worked well for me - fixed cost per month, they provide the gas safety cert without me having to think about it (contact tennant diect and fix an apointment - send me the cert in the post). Tennat can get issues fixed without even bothering to tell me.

    replace "+" with "plus".

looked good until I saw that boilers need to be under 10 years old!

  • I have been with them for a few months now. They sorted my gas certificate out within a week of me signing up and had someone at the property two hours after my tenant called them (faulty radiator) just last week. Cheaper than BG too.
