Sorry if this is old news, but I just logged in to my Barclays account, and saw a message explaining that it was now possible to set up a five-digit security code and memorable word, which will then enable me to log in without using PINsentry!
At last, I can start using my Barclays account properly again :j

Ah, but will it let you use the account properly? Or the first time you try and setup a new payment it says "Please use your PIN Sentry to complete the transaction".
Must say, I don't check my Barclays account that often, I usually just check the text messages they send. It only gets about 1 - 2 transactions a month anyway.0 -

It has been for years but it used to be more or less view only before with the exception of transferring between your own accounts..
Was many months ago that they made the change that you could actually transfer money outside of your account holdings etc. I signed up to their beta testing of the new site and think it was around January it was opened up.0 -
I have never had pinsentry and can do just about anything I want.
Setting up new payees took a bit longer as it had to be manualy approved for the first payment.
IIRC some are ok if they are in an approved list0
