Debit card transaction

Hi,

Just looking for advice or if anyone else had same thing happen.

Basically, I made a debit card transaction on Friday last week there for £180. It is now Wednesday night, nearly Thursday & when I check online banking, it has not shown up as coming off.

In the past i have had transactions take a while to show on statement but there is usually a pending balance for that amt, but this time there is now pending balance.

Should I contact bank/shop to see if payment gone through or not or do you think it will come off eventually & leave me overdrawn for transaction amt?

It will usually take 3 working days to show up (if you made the payment on Friday Afternoon, Friday will not usually count as a full working day). I imagine you will see the amount debited on Thursday AM.

Ok thanks. I have got a feeling this is going to put me overdrawn then. D'oh!

why? presumably you had the money to cover the payment last Friday, and as you've been checking to see if the transaction is there you cannot have forgotten about it, so where did the money go?

What type of transaction?
Online retailer may only debit you when the goods are ready to dispatch.

When you say overdrawn, do you mean within your agreed limit. If so no problem.
Or will take you passed your agreed limit? If so, why. As clearly you knew you had spent the cash.

TBH. Contacting either is not going to make any diffrence.
