need to sync galaxy s3 to pc

just got the new galaxy s3 and have plugged in the usb charger to my pc so that i can download an app but pc says it does not recognise usb, what am i doing wrong?? sorry but not very technie

What's the app? Whatever it is, you don't need to connect a smartphone to a pc. Use the browser on the phone or use the play store

the phone its self can download the app ,the phone really do's not need a pc only for firmware updates and it can do that too with out a pc ,
if you really need to sync the phone to the pc your best using kies http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/usefulsoftware/KIES/JSP
but the only time i use kies is to update it and the program is really buggy ,so it may not work on your pc

banger9365 is spot on, especially in the really buggy statement. Kies worked 2 times for me then stopped working.

Besides workng twice, and updating Kies many more times, one installation of kies corrupted my tcip stack, days after I got usb errors that will not recognise the usb.

My usb fix was to go into device manager and search for the usb driver , delete the driver and on plugging in the phone it found and installed the correct driver. I now no longer get this message, still the kies software does not work

think kies wifi sync might be the way to go, but I also did not sync, just updated firmware. Wifi kies only syncs, and does not update
