Buyer won't agree to cancel sale

  • If they haven't responded to the cancellation request yet, I'd be inclined to stop communication (unless they contact you) until day 7 in the hope that they don't realise that doing nothing means you'll get your fees back.
Bugging them might prompt them to look at the request, and decline it.

This is what I would do for now. Then close it yourself when the time comes.

If they do neg you, then just put a polite comment in reply that you made a genuine mistake and apologise for it. Others will see this and see it as a "one off" and see you are a reasonable seller so should not do you much harm.

If I was a buyer and bid on the item, then paid for the item to then get and apology and refund, I would be absolutely miffed as well.

To be honest it sounds like the OP didn't get what he thought he would and then changed hi mind after the sale finished. So sorry, to me that is a bad seller. Very dodgy
Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j
  • Yes, I'd be miffed as a buyer but sometimes genuine mistakes are made and since it's not going to "make" the seller give you something they don't have, there's not much to be gained from making it more difficult.
The only ones who win are ebay.
Buyer may as well cancel and leave negative (which is probably what I'd do).

Interesting. Off topic but you would have thought that a seller could leave a neg in cases where the buyer hasn't read the listing properly, changed their mind, didn't mean to bid and all the other carp they sometimes come out with.

Not at all, I listed it on a free listing and I was happy with the price but if I don't have it there's not much I can do. I accepted I made a mistake, I apologised, I refunded....what else can I do? I think the problem is that ebay always give priority to the buyer. I'm a genuine seller with a 100% record and over 2500 feedback but one person intent on vengeance can ruin it.

Intent on vengeance? Bit much isn't it?

I have just refused to cancel four transactions from a seller who monumentally messed up a listing. I asked for advice on here and followed it.

I refused to cancel because I am extremely pee'd off that I didn't get what I paid for and was messed around.

I am not being vengeful, I am just letting the seller know that if you royally muck up when selling on ebay, there are consequences

I have yet to decide whether or not to leave feedback.
