As said, an employer expects you to be there for work, they can set rules on how many days off they are willing to accept, no matter for what reason, ill or not, I'm not sure why you think having a doctors note is enough. Try to stop thinking that a sick note is a get out of jail card, all it does is give the reason why you were off, it's the amount of time off that matters not the reason for that time off.
And most times weekends are counted towards your sick if they cover the sick period, you can't say I was sick Mon-Fri then well again Sat and Sun, I know it's crazy but those are the rules, well for my last job they were anyway
Thank the Government for our Employment laws, the Tories are reducing what little employment laws we have left.0 -

Long term stress depresses your immune system and makes you more vunerable to repeated infections. That's what the doctors tell us anyway and it's more or less what I found when I was trying to do too much, I got every bug going and that made me fall even further behind. My employer was 100% behind me on this though and was more than happy to give me the necessary leeway to complete my studies as it was going to benefit the company long term. Your employer isn't going to benefit from your qualifications at all so no wonder she's a bit hacked off about them.
You'd just better not get sick again, otherwise I suspect she'll be taking further steps down the disciplinary/dismissal track. If you feel there's other aspects of your lifestyle that are also affecting your stress levels perhaps this is the time to address them? Good diet, exercise, plenty of sleep, cut the caffeine and alcohol out etc.Val.0
