Casual Vacancy - doh!

DH and I were walking past Waterstones this morning and saw an advert on a board outside for a casual vacancy. Thinking that it would be perfect for my ds, we went inside to ask for an application form only to be told that it was an advert for JK Rowling's new book 'Casual Vacancy' and there was no job - doh!!:o I should have felt embarrassed but I didn't as it was an innocent mistake - and apparently I wasn't the first to ask!:p

I would prob have done the exact same thing! For goodness sake didnt anyone realise that a poster saying 'Casual Vacancy' would look like a job advert? mind you, its a good thing the book wasnt called 'Prostitute Required'!!!

Reminds me of a mate at uni who went into a Carer's Centre and asked if they'd got any IT Jobs. He learnt an important lesson that day.... there's two E's in Careers!

I knew someone once who asked about a job in several Guest Houses (all in the same road) because they said "vacancies" in the window!
