Hi ive just got a new Dell PC and on every other startup it will freeze completley on the first Dell startup screen with which i have to power down at the mains socket. I really do not want the hassle of repacking it and sending it back but i know this mains cut off isnt doing it any favours. Once it gets past this loading bar everything is fine. I have heard it could be a registry issue and ive used a program to check for errors but its still happening. Help!

If it less than a week old get onto Dell straight away.
I had a problem with mine from new, because I phoned them within two days and it was less than a week old, they gave me the option of sending it back or them sending a Dell engineer out to my home address at no charge, even though I had only taken the basic one year service package.
An engineer visit was agreed and within two days he had been and the problem was sorted.
I also got them to phone me back then the call was not at my expense.
I could not fault them for quick service in my case.0 -

I agree with the above poster, you need to get onto dell and tell them about the problems and keep at them untill its resolved.0 -

I would agree with this. I done a restore last week and solved a lot of issues by taking my laptop back to the way it was out the box.
If the machine is new; it won't be as painfull as losing 2 years of settings and programs. :mad:0 -

I’m at Dell Headquarters in Austin, Texas and I just came across this thread. It looks like I may be a bit late but I wanted to see how all of this worked out and offer my help if the matter is still not resolved.
