Have you investigated the possibility of a Deed of Variation?
My understanding is that a deed of variatiion means that the estate is distributed in a different way to what was stated in the wiill eg someone takes a larger share, someone takes a smaller share, someone gives up their share altogether. Or that it is treated differently. E.G. for mum's estate we could have agreed not to put her estate into trust but to divide it between us - same basic result, we all still benefit. But it's the agreement that they can't get so it's immaterial.Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan
