Insurance Quote (after checking for subsidence)

We had our 2bedroom terraced house checked for subsidence 2years ago. We were insured with Direct Line at the time. The surveyor came out and it was confirmed to us, that it was NOT subsidence and this was confirmed in writing.
However we are now trying to get insurance on the house. They companies giving us quotes are saying that it is down as a claim for subsidence. (not a check for subsidence)
Can anyone offer me advice on how to get this changed. You can imagine the quotes we are getting!!

Loved our trip to the West Coast USA. Death Valley is the place to go!

What was the problem with the house?
You would need to declare the reason for the claim on future quotes and obviously subsidence is a red flag to many insurers.
I would contact Direct Line as it would have been they that would have registered the subsidence claim. If it was not subsidence and something else that had caused the problem then you can ask them to change it.
When you are getting quotes, which questions are affecting you? Insurers normally ask if the home has suffered subsidence, heave, landslip which yours has not and you have written confirmation.
When you are getting quotes most companies do not check the CUE database to check for previous claims - they take your word for it but if you don't disclose everything you could invalidate the policy. Have the companies that you have had quotes for checked this or just out it down as a subsidence claim because this was you thought the problem was.
You need to get quotes based on a claim for the actual problem with the house.0
