Barclaycard fail to remove ppi

Four months ago barclaycard refused my claim for my ppi back, before sending it off to the ombudsmen i called them and asked them to remove the ppi from my card.
This month i realize that not only have they failed to do this but the ppi charge has taken me over my limit and cost me a further £12 fee.
On calling to query it and ask again for it to be removed am told that not only did they have the case as still open but they had logged no instance of me asking for its removal.
I was advised that regrettably we cant refund any charges or ppi premium because they have logged no request for removal.
Any advice on getting them to drop this charge guys?
