ESA Tribunal

Hi, I was successful in my ESA tribunal yesterday. Obviously I know it won't be immediate, but has anybody (possibly been in this position) a rough idea of how long it will take the backdated payments to be paid to me? Thank you.

if ESA doesnt decide to challenge the tribunal decision, then your looking at approx 2 weeks for payment to come into affect then there has been cases where 13 weeks go buy without backdated payment being recieved. ESA are extremely relaxed when dealing with their paper work.0

As above.. some people are reporting months! So if you're sending incsicknotes while appealing then continue to do so. Well done!"Do not attribute to conspiracy what can adequately be explained by incompetence" - rogerblack0

Thanks. Oh dear, didn't realise ESA could appeal it again! TBH I think they'd be on shaky ground if they did.0

You may be able to speed to process up by faxing the payments department a copy of the decision notice, it can often take a couple of weeks just to make it though the DWP's mail system.0

THe DWP, like you, do have an option to argue that the tribunal made an error in law (this is quite different than disagreeing with their decision) and therefore should be struck out... but it would be rare for DWP to request this. Thanks everyone - especially Muttley.0
