Insurance Claim Problem, Other party not informed company

Hi Guys,
had a smack Monday evening, Got details, and an admition of liability.
Also police turned up, stories matched, and liability admitted.
Now the problem is it's wednesday Afternoon, I have no Vehicle, I cannot get a hire car from the insurers as they wont deal with me as the guilty party has not informed the insurers of the accident. So they cannot take my word that she is liable. So day 3 and I am stuck with no transport. I know I can get Taxis (i'm very rural)
I asked my insurers, "do I just accept that you cannot provide me with a hire car and out the phone down?" and her answer on the phone was yes we cannot sort one out for you!!
Can any body help??
Cheers

Whats happening to your car? Is it repairable or a write off? Are you claiming from your insurance for it? Are you entitled to a courtesy car from your insurance or a guaranteed replacement vehicle?
One option open to you will be credit hire but that will be dependent on the claim for the damage to your vehicle progressing0 -
I believe the car is a write off, still waiting to hear, but I've seen the state it was in, and the value. so It will be.
I am not 100% sure if I am guarenteed a Car, but seeing as the otgher party is liable, I was assured once they agree they would sort me a car out asap. But that is not the case, so I am not at fault however I am the one stuck without a car!!
What is the Credit Hire??
Cheesr II0 -
Credit hire is a scheme where a car hire company gives you the car on credit and then recovers the money directly from the other party. Most providers operate under a scheme set up by the Association of British Insurers and so their rates etc are all preagreed with all the insurers that subscribe (which is most)
If you go to http://apps.abi.org.uk/tphire/ and youre bored you can read all about it. Alternatively a list of companies is found http://apps.abi.org.uk/tphire/SupportingDocuments/First%20tier%20CHOs%20website%20version%20updated%2024%20September%202012.xls
Ignore the email address and phone numbers listed as they are for insurers to use if they want to contact the senior manager at the organisation but you can google the company names for their websites.
Alteratively contact your local garage and they will undoubtably be happy to sell your details to one of the companies for a couple of hundred quid0 -
Haha, Ok I will speak to my insurers and tell them I will credit Hire, I hope this works i'm a firefighter and need transport to get tyo my job!! Eek0
-
Of cause if you've got a personal injury you become even more valuable and if you google you will find accident management companies that will deal with the whole thing for you AND give you the few hundred quid on top0

To go through Injury Claims do I have to go to the doctors to get a write up. Only because I have got a stiff neck, but Havn't botherd with the quacks yet!0
-
It certainly supports your claim if you have but then anyone can google whiplash symptoms and claim they had it for a month or two and just took over the counter pain killers for it. You'll see a doctor appointed by your solicitor in 9 months time well after the symptoms have gone. You recount what the website said it feels like etc and bobs your uncle.
Then again thats also one of the key reasons why everyone's insurance keeps on escalating in price0 -
Yeah, that isn't my main concern im not after making a load of cash. I just want a replacement car while mine is fixed/paid out.
My insurers are adamant they cannot help until liability is found. Ridiculous0 -
Do you have comprehensive cover or TPO/ TPFT? Who are the insurers?0
