I had a childless great-uncle who specifically left out his nieces and nephews and gave his money to his great-nieces and great-nephews.
His argument being that nieces and nephews were in their 50s and were financially independent but the next generation were more in need of the money - mortgages and children.0 -
And bear in mind of course that most of the above comments only apply to England, where it is legally permissible to disinherit your children. in Scotland, France, and many other countries this isn't allowed and there are set rules as to what proportion of an estate must go to children and the child's automatic share must be distributed correctly if they are themselves deceased.Eat food.
