Can I use credit card to pay mortgage etc?

    Cornwall council accept credit card payments without a charge, at least they did last time I looked. I've never actually tried it myself but I remember seeing it on a bill. So it's worth checking.

    Mortgage - almost certainly not.

    I don't believe there are any, but they do often have a 3 month time limit, so it is possible that some of it limit would not be able to be used for anything else.
