Attention techy folk!

I'm just looking for an el cheapo device that will allow me to use wifi internet and easy to travel with. Would you say this was worth going for?

What are the main limitations for someone who normally uses a laptop with windows?

It is going to be pretty rubbish. If you want a cheap device for wi-fi internet access get somethig like a Nexus 7 tablet.

what about a Playbook from Blackberry?

I have an ipad2 wifi, Fujitsu M532 3G and wifi (android) and two playbooks, and whilst they are smaller, the screen quality is great, build quality is also good, and they are £109 from Currys at the moment?

Thanks both, I was just attracted by the price. I can only find Nexus 7 Tablet for £199 and the blackberry playbook I can find for £129....

can you recommend anything around the £90 mark? Also, is android that much worse than other systems?

Prior to the above, I bought some Archos 7 inch tablets, which looke great, but unfortunately one broke, and as I had two expectant children, I had to return them both. I then bought Arnova G2 tablets, but again, these soon developed faults (battery charging issues)

I'm sure there are some good android cheap tablets, but I've not personally used one.

Even my Fujitsu, which is supposed to have a scratch resistant screen, was scratched within a week of using it! The Ipad however, is carried around by the whole family, and, touch wood, hasn't scratched in the yr+ of ownership. However you do pay a lot, for the name...

Many thanks... stupidly was looking on the comet site where clearly you do not find Curry's prices...

So for someone who is used to laptops this is a good switch? what limitations can you do on a laptop that you can't on a playbook? does it just allow you to browse or can you add applications such as word/excel etc?

I guess what I'm asking, as I've probably not been clear! is the real difference between a lappy and a tablet. Tablet is fine for browsing I know, but aside from that? what about loading microsoft office products on?

and I know I'm going to get slated saying this....! but 7 inches seems a trifle small?

I think they're two separate things, and I've confused your search.

I would say though, that typing on a 7inch device is much easier than on a larger device, as you can hold it and reach all of the keys with your thumbs whilst holding it.

Have a look in some shops local to familiarise yourself with them.

For £89 a notebook/laptop seems a very good price indeed, but as already noted by a more perceptive reader, it's missing some of the important spec
