    Thanks to all who have contributed to this thread so far. I see a recurring theme about the expense of phone calls on Virgin, but the package I'm considering includes the 24/7 all-inclusive phone calls. I also need to bear in mind that since I don't have a BT line at home, installing that would cost £125, which would go a long way to offsetting any extra phone costs! (And yes, I've tried to negotiate with BT, saying that this installation fee is all that's stopping me from changing to them - no dice.)

    Aside from the phone, most people seem to be happy with the service. I think that once I can get "official" confirmation that Virgin are getting the rights to show 24 etc, it'll be time to switch.

    Virgin Media( Cable) Phone Service is very expensive.
    yes i agree with this one, although i have the all landline calls free so dont pay for any calls.

    If youre a sports fan and watch skysports regularly then you lose the red button facility you have with Sky, this has infuriated a lot of people i know during the cricket world cup with sky showing the lesser game on the main channel and the better gam on the red button. This happens occasionally on other sports too, tho if not a huge sports watcher wont be a problem

    never had any probs with ntl/virgin
    any problems with the box and it was fixex/repalced free of charge, in fact we are on our 3rd box now .... maybe its just me?
