    Showers here, frequent and heavy!
This morning is going to be difficult as I have to tell a client about the mistake I made and how much back VAT he owes as a result. Feel terrible and will offer to resign and pay any fines/penalties that arise as a result. Keep telling myself we are all human and make mistakes, but I have let him down as a resuilt of my stupidity and feel ashamed. I have Professional indemnity insurance but I think fine/penalty will be below the excess. Sis suggested planning a treat for myself after the meeting and try to focus on that.......
Other than that the rest of work is ok at the moment, I am going to a big strategy meeting in London on Friday to do with society's view of people with challenging behaviour and am glad of the opportunity to get my views heard. This is unpaid work, but so important i feel really lucky to have the chance.
Cooked a chisken and veg balti last night with enough for tonight, lunch will be salad, if I can eat after the difficult meeting! OH is coming for dinner so we may go out rather than eat the curry.

Congratulations on the job Mr bitsy! Fabulous news!
nmlc, you obviously have a strategy in place for a difficult situation, keep yourself safe and have a hug from me.
Getting better at names, but still forgetting some, so a general hug to everyone else.

  • Morning Everyone!!!!

I was up at 4am...I got flu yesterday evening...and only got to sleep at 12..and up at 4 (and I'm a 10 hour sleep girl!). Feeling really grotty so called in sick...my first sick day at this job and after only being there a short time. I called NHS direct and they told me to stay in bed as it sounds like flu not a cold and to take it easy so I don't get more ill...I was trying to get them to tell me how I can make it to work for a late shift. Got tomorrow and Friday off anyways as my days off, so hopefully it will just be today off work and then if I rest up I'll be good to go for Saturday! We can hope!

Bitsy - congrats to hubby on the job! And seatbelts on for the rollercoaster to come! Bath is beautiful..when you are all nice and settled (when will that be?) I'll pop on the train (it's only an hour or so from Oxford) and I'll buy you a coffee!

Essexgirl - I joined curves a few weeks back...went once.... Actually its great and I need to go more often but getting into shift work has knocked me for a sixer I never expected!

nmlc - BIG hugs, hope things go better for you soon!

    Have a fabulous day all!!!

SIL starts his new job Tuesday, DD should find out about hers today.

Had a lovely lunch with my cousin yesterday. Went to physio. Very pleased with me. Got quite a bit of movement already, although apparently elbows can take a few years to get really straight! Got to go back in a fortnight.

Dentist today. My blood pressure pills are crumbling my teeth:eek: Honestly, you take one thing and something else happens:mad:

Dinner is left over chinese tonight.

    Have a great day.

    Morning all,

Firstly congratulations MrBitsy on the new job. I hope he enjoys it.

Tiglath. When My husband shattered his ankle he was pulling out purple thread out of his wounds for many months after his operation. The stitches internally were supposedly disolvable but some of them didnt disolve and after the months and his leg began to heal they worked up to the surface and poked through his skin. Gross i know but i remember him cutting the knots and pulling the stitches out. I also remember my eldest dog had the same problem a few months after she had her 'lady bits' chopped out (but didnt do DIY on her we took her to the vet and got charged for the privilage).

Hilstep i didnt know blood pressure medication can affect your teeth. I'm on a weird and wonderful combination to keep my blood pressure down. My teeth are in good condition thankfully, thats something though i need to be aware of.

    nmlc Thinking of you.

I am fine, a bit brighter than i have been since the weekend and ive started my daily chores already. I'm going to plunder the plants in the greenhouse today. Its getting pretty cold and damp and i dont think it will do them any good leaving them out there to rot so i will bring the tomatoes and cucumbers in. The tomatoes can ripen on the kitchen window.

I'd like to bath the dogs but i dont think i will get that far today.

The weather is bright but a bit on the chilly side but at least its not raining.

    Hugs all :)

Congrats to DH Bitsy, hope you can stay calm through the relocation, scary times but it will be worth it in the end.

nmlc - Hope you keep on top of the situation.

Still off sick here, went to bed last night and my nose started to run, hardly slept as I couldn't breathe through my nose and had a thoroughly carp night. I think my head may explode too!

Just managing to do the bare necesseties in the house, it will still be there when I feel better!

    Take care. XX

    Morning all,
Congrats to H ,Bitsy.Hope the move and the job work out well for you all. When does he start the job?
Tiglath, glad you're back at work but dont overdo it :)
nmlc-pleased you are brighter this morning and hope things settle down.

I've not been doing much OS tbh, more general housework. We were given a lovely wardrobe that has gone in DS room. When he first moved back home after his split with his fiancee,we bunged one of ours in there as a temp measure but its a Laura Ashley and not to his style at all.Anyway it meant taking everything out and moving it out so the new one could go straight in.We put the L A one back in our room but I've not filled it up yet.Moved some other stuff to accomodate it so plenty of stuff still to sort.We are on a roll now,so going to swap some furniture around downstairs too :D DH has been at home pricing work up as they cant finish a job they are on till the plumber has finished, which was handy for shifting stuff.

Had a nice surprise yesterday,DHs BIL & DN came across the Pennines with 3 friends to go to footie last night and rang to ask to meet us before the match. We catch a minibus from a pub(easier to park there than the ground)so met them there and managed to get them on it too.Havent seen them since Xmas so it was nice.

I'll have a look in the freezer for tea, need something quick if I'm messing about with stuff again all day.Think we are going to look for some wallpaper for one wall in the small lounge too.

Hope you all have good days, and LW a less painful one.x

  • Hello everyone, I can't believe it's afternoon already!

Congratulations on new jobs and good luck with interviews. There seems to be come nasty bugs and viruses going around at the moment so anyone who is ill, please take care and get well soon.

Weather looked good this morning so I put on a load of washing but have just checked the forecast and I think it will be raining by the time I get home. I may have to resort to the emergency only tumble drier :(

Am eating left over chilli and rice for lunch and some of the pulled pork with rice and peppers for dinner. Rather a lot of carbs but rice is cheap and cheerful and goes with everything. The menus for the rest of this month will feature lots of rice, pasta and pulses.

I am going to try and get some castor oil and do the EVOO cleanser and moisturiser. We already have lots of EVOO (all bought on special offer) and an abundance of face clothes so the castor oil should be the only cost. If anyone needs face clothes and has a nearby Home Bargains or Quality Save, they are generally very cheap there, I think they were 25p last time I bought some.

Back to work now so have a super day everyone :)

    Hi all

I'm desperately tired again today, so hope this post will be coherent! No sleep again last night - a combination of shoulder pain, mouth pain, and Dave Dog sleeps on the bed.

Congratulations on the new job Mr Bitsy,:T and best of luck to the whole family as you embark on your new adventure.:D

Esmf I hope Daisy gets on OK at the vets – it's not a nice experience, but it'll be over soon, and it'll help keep her healthy.:o

Tiglath baby steps, mate. You didn't fail at OS yesterday, you sensibly chose not to do anything extra after your return to the workplace.;)

When I logged on this morning, there was an email in my inbox with two more canine bookings - just three days each, but that's OK. The first is for two dogs together, the second just for one; all dogs I've not met before, so should be fun.:o These are all larger dogs, so I'm pretty certain they won't be bed-sharers.;)
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Time to face the music - there is this thread on health and beauty board about OCM (oil cleansing method) might be worth a read.
