Post at risk query...

Hello,
I was advised back in May this year that my post was deemed to be 'at risk', and that it would take about 3 months to sort out.
However, five months on I am still waiting
Please could some kind soul tell me what is the maximum time an employer can keep you 'waiting' for, before they tell you one way or another if you are staying or going?
There may not be one, but I am curious and would very much like to know what I can expect.. I don't like to ask my employer this question..
Many thanks..

I'm no expert but I don't think there is a timeframe. Colleagues of mine were advised that a company had given notice to terminate the contract they were employed to fulfil and so were on notice of redundancy as if we didn't re-win the contract through a tender process they would not be required. Unfortunately, the deadline for when they are re-tendering has slipped and slipped and my colleagues have been on notice for over 9 months.0

They could just find another job give counter notice and get out with the redundancy.0 -
