How should I best insure a British registered lhd car which is kept in the EU for most of the year? Can a British car be MOT'd in Spain or Portugal?

Hi - Stuartcollins.com can arrange insurance from this country to include 12 months cover in Europe and have a good reputation and ibexinsure.com are based in Spain but can arrange similar cover.I hope one of them can help you

Remember the vehicle will still have to be taxed, in a country. If you are not going to export it, you'll have to tax and MOT it here, and provide British insurance to do this.

If the vehicle is abroad for the best part of the year, register it in that country, then you'd be road legal in this country for up to a year when you come home. If the vehicle is currently insured, taxed, and MOT'd abroad.
