Cavity Wall Insulation Rant - Short

I know that it's nice to get free stuff or at least subsidised. I know that the utility companies have been told to spend some brass and get everybodies house insulated.
But I'm fed up with cold callers trying to push cavity wall insulation on me. I know that they are only doing their job but a few hours in a classroom doing U value calculations would make many of my days easier. Oh and a day or two of British domestic architecture since the 1900's wouldn't go amiss either.
I suspect that I could live to be a 1000 years old and never see any benefit from having the cavities in my current house insulated.

I know what you mean, I've had no less than 3 letters from the local council wanting to stuff every cavity they can find with insulation.

Constant phone calls, I answered one a couple of days ago, after listening to his spiel I said It's already 3 foot deep in my loft, I don't think there's room for any more. He ignored me and continued with his script . . . I cut in and told him I'm sick of people telling my missus she can have 10 inches in the loft . . . he hung up
