Cost of moving and installing new radiator

Hi
I've been quoted approx £400 (including vat) for a new radiator to be installed. This includes cost of a 700mm x 700mm double convector thermostatic radiator and it being moved to the other side of my back bedroom wall. They are draining, filling and venting my system and removing all the old materials. Is this a reasonable quote? I thought it seemed a bit expensive but haven't a clue really
Thanks in advance for any advice

So thats one quote, you need to get 3 and compare them.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

Such a radiator will cost about £60 (inc Vat)
Add about £40 for extras such as TRV, piping, cleaner, inhibitor, etc
So assuming a typical plumber charge is about £60/h (plus vat), this means the plumber will take just over 4 hours.
Half a day seems reasonable, especially considering he will need to travel to & from your property.
Like spiro says, best to get another couple of quotes
You'd probably get more responses if you asked the board guide to move this thread to the Is This Quote Fair?, board. On this Gas & Electricity board, we deal mainly with issues about ... well gas and electricity, and in particular billing, switching, etc.0
