If person 1 & 2 are frieneds and person 1 comments on something you have posted on your wall person 2 (and all the friends of person 1) sees it.
It could be that way they saw it?
Neither of them are friends on my list. Hence how I'm confused they got to read this stuff.0 -

I've changed everything and made sure it won't happen again.
But all I need to know is can they actually do anything with what they've read when it's named no names and not been offensive to the company.0 -
As far as I was aware of, everything IS and has ALWAYS been set to private.
.
You're a fool to believe that. Facebook has been hounded in the IT press countless times for its lack of privacy and its confusing privacy settings.
Mark Zuckerbergs beliefs are that there shouldn't be privacy.0 -

Does anybody else not find it a bit odd people are doing this? I have added people I work with, but they are only ones I spend all day talking too anyway. Would never add a random person or my boss, pointless hassle.0

It depends on what was said and in which context.
If you've not said anything bad about work at all then what reason would they have to take any action? If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -
Just never say anything about work. It's really that simple.
Lots of my friends on fb are people I work with but I've never seen anyone comment about work, either good or bad.
I did see one colleague post about having a very nice evening in a pub where it was clear that lots of wine was being consumed. Nothing wrong with that normally except that this particular colleague had gone home at 11 am with a migraine. No action was taken but it I thought it was a bit foolish at the time. There are three types of people in this world. Those who can count and those who can't.0 -
The lesson is don't post anything on Facebook or indeed anywhere on the internet that you wouldn't want your mother, spouse, or manager to read. That includes future managers too.
I feel awful for teenagers these days who are posting everything they do on the Internet where it will remain archived for ever. People are going to be denied employment for life because they tweeted something compromising when they were 15.0 -
Am I the only person who doesn't see the point of Facebook?0
