All weather tyres?

Wonder if anyone could kindly give me advice? My Kia Ceed needs 4 new tyres and I was thinking about fitting all weather tyres as I live in the sticks! I don't want the hassle of winter/ summer tyre changes but, as I need new tyres anyway, would it be a good idea to fit all weathers and, if so, has anyone any recommendations? I was looking at the Mytyres website but so many to choose from! Thanks

I run all weather tyres on my 4x4. They're not quite as good as summer tyres in the hot weather, but they're pretty good in the ice and snow.

A C'eed is hardly a performance car, so they'd be a good choice.

    Suggest you start here: http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Article/2011-Auto-Bild-All-Season-Tyre-Test.htm
  • My daughter is on her 2nd set of Quatracs, have been excellent all rounders and acceptably hard wearing, have another set sitting here for another family car when the current set reach end of life.

Whatever make you go for don't leave it too long, prices have started to rise slightly already.

Thanks both - have ordered the Quatracs - hope the winter isn't too bad!

Hope it is a bit bad, its smugly satisfying being one of the few cars to make it up the hill from my home.

As it would cost over £700 to equip mine for the 3-4 terrible days of winter, I can't square the equation.
Do people who go to this expense fit the same size tyre or go for a narrower width to "cut through" better?

The OP is talking about all season tyres, which can be left on the car all year round, rather than winter tyres.

Yes , your smugly satisfying answer to the quandry is more smugly satisfying than my smugly satisfying solution.
