Hmmm, would you care to try again?0

BrandNewYear has most likely said everything there is to say about the M&S Current account.0

Somehow I don't think too many MSE people would want an account which isn't very MSE at all!0

I like the debit card design !!Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0

You've got to admit, £15/month to get £40 a year in M&S vouchers has got to be the bargain of the century! PLUS you'll get a FREE birthday present and FREE cups of tea or coffee at random times through the year! Wow! All this for just £180/year. Unbelievable.
Or you could use a free account, spend the £180/year on yourself and let the bank pay you £235/year for doing so (assuming 6K in a Lloyds TSB 4% Vantage account).0 -
Actually £20 a month after the first 3 month.
What were they thinking O_O0 -
It's £20 pm only if one opts for Worldwide multi-trip family travel insurance. Otherwise it's £15 pm.
There is a £5 discount for 3 months for Premium Club members so for some it could be £10 for the first 3 months.0 -
Ah, premium club members... they're already paying an obscene amount for their 'free' cups of tea, so they can pay less for the current account.
I really don't get the m&s premium club or the current account. Looks like a big waste of money for an ego massage once in a while.
I suspect its aimed at older people who get conned into signing up and then forget to check their outgoings, thus paying out for it until the day they die.0 -
From what I've seen of the advertising blurb, it looks very overpriced. As someone has said on this thread, you can spend the £180 on yourself. Even if you had only one Halifax Reward account, that's still £60 extra in your back pocket if you don't have Lloyds Vantage.
If you're in the market for a packaged current account there seem to be a lot more affordable ones on the market, rather than paying the M&S premium.
One idea to make this account more feasible, if you did a lot of your shopping under the M&S brands is to offer either cash-back on purchases or even a small discount on purchases to make the £15 seem more justifiable0
