Virgin Media query

Virgin media are offering me telephone for £11 per month with free digital TV. Very tempted but what about my BB? Currently I am with AOL (£9.99 per month for life) and am happy with it and don't really want to change. If I move to Virgin though won't I be cable and therefore no longer able to have AOL?

Hi, the free tv with the phone line is something vm has offered from the begining.
All you get is free view channels which you could get if you purchased a £20 freeview set top box.
If you do go to vm then i think you will also have to take your internet through them as the only way to keep the AOL is to have the BT line.
If your happy with what you have its best not to change because once you change you get locked in to a 12 month contract unless the deal you are swapping to is a real bargain.
Also with VM recent price changes they are the most expensive telephone provider on the market at the moment as they have started to charge a 6p connection for every call as well as rounding up each call to the next minute instead of the next second.0 -

and 0845/0870 calls can be over 300% more than BT.0 -

I won't bother changing as I like AOL (am I the only one) for my BB. I do have a freeview box so I already have digital TV, I would have just used it in another room. Might still be a goer for MIL though as she has problems with her freeview box and loss of channel. She makes hardly any phone calls as she too mean and waits for us to call her so it would be cost effective for her!
