Setting up a TP link access point. Desperate for help please.

I have a TP link wireless access point to connect my Sony TV to the internet. My router has just been replaced with a Netgear DG834G v3 and the access point is no longer connecting.

I have reset it to factory settings via the pin hole on the back of the access point.

When I first set up the connection I had fantastic help here and was able to make the wireless connection relatively easily.

I can't do it now!! I simply don't know what I am doing.

I can't see the web page of the access point to configure it and, at the moment, I'm stressed and cross.

Could someone please help me, in simple language.

Thank you

dx

What happens when you try to follow the original instructions (which should still apply!).

You should be able to access its web page by connecting an ethernet patch cable from PC to the wireless access point, then typing http://192.168.1.254 into the address bar and pressing Enter...

    Thanks, I get

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

Could it be that the ethernet port on my laptop isn't working?

I can't seem to get an ethernet internet connection to my laptop if I turn wireless off?
