mortgage lenders what do they look for

my partner has 1 child which he never sees but pays £5 a week for, on his applacation he said he didnt have any kids. will they find out that he has?

    Not unless his maintenance is paid via the CSA or shows as "child maintenance" on his bank statements.

    Why did he say that he doesn't have children? After all, £5 per week in child support is not really going to make a big difference to the lending decision.

    because he forgot bout it, he doent even no that he is the father and we thought it might make the amout we can borrow go down alot

    I'm sure if your partner disputed paternity the CSA would have arranged DNA paternity testing, its standard practice - they do not take any money until paternity is either admitted or proved via DNA testing

    i don't know if CSA payments come up on credit searches, a mortgage advisor will probably know that. But £5 per week won't make a lot of odds.
