Santander overdraft.

Hi

Firstly my credit is very poor.

Ive had santander account now for 18 months and they have finally aloud me to have a OD.

My queston is will that be based on there internal score or is it a sign my credit is improving?

Cheers

    A little bit of both.

If your credit rating was that horrendous they would not offer you an overdraft at all based on the monthly CRA feed.

It's based on how you have operated your account, the credits into your account and the average monthly balance. You will notice that on your statement there is your average monthly balance. If your credit report is poor you may find that they will allow you an overdraft but not a credit card which is a bit wacky but there ya go.

Do you think they would give me the 123 credit card? Or will they do an external credit check too?

again ask your local branch, they will give you a good indication. you might have a pre-approval.

If you're being offered an OD then you're doing something right, congratulations! Any branch can tell you your limit, just ask!

I'd wait a while until you get the 123 though, it all comes in time!
