I've got loads of singles and LP's in the loft, which I'm selling as part of my decluttering programme.

I've been using eBay. As the more recent singles were in boxes that were easier to get to I made a start with them.

These are singles from the 70's and 80's, all in good condition. I started trying to sell them individually, but it was sloooow. I managed to sell a few, but I wouldn't live long enough to sell them all like that!

I've now started selling them in lots of about 50, and they go for about £12 to £15' but that includes postage. So there's not much profit there.

I have more 70's and 80s stuff which I'll be doing after Christmas, then I'll be on to the 50's and 60's singles and the LP'S.

I'll be more careful with those, and will be checking previous listings to see if there's anything desirable there, otherwise they'll be job lots too.

It is possible to sell record on eBay, but if you have fairly popular chart records, be prepared not to make a fortune.

On the other hand if you have rare records then you might make a bit

  • Ebay tend to have inflated prices... gemm.com often has a more realistic pricing.

How can eBay have 'inflated prices' when items are auctioned, and buyers pay only as much as they're willing to pay?
  • Also look at eil.com (Esprit Mail Order). They tend to be overpriced but if there's anything worth substantial cash, that will show you.

  • I second discogs you can list for the price you want to sell it for, can take a while though and you have to have decent packing
