The requirement is that you are paying the appropriate taxes not that you must explicitly pay income tax.

You could be a student and your partner pays for everything and as such you have no income and no tax to pay, or you could have a very low income and be below the tax threashold.

How do you qualify for the no immigration restrictions? Do you have Indefinite Leave to Remain? Permanent Residency?

I am surprised that someone who has been here long enough to get free from immigration certificates and gone through all those loops to get themselves free from immigration restrictions doesnt know about these sorts of things
