I see that there has been alot of discussion on whether A. have been told to hassle customers with APGs or not.

Here is my view having had a problem using an APG today.

Quite early on in the glitch, I got a bit carried away and ended up with an APG for £47-01:eek:. Obviously I was a bit worried about using it.
Today was the expiry date, so I thought what the heck, I'll go for it!!:)

Armed with a trolley containing a new duvet, a litre of vodka and lots of other bits and pieces I chose a young, male SA.

Poor lad! He looked at the APG and didn't know what to do.
I told him that if it was a problem I didn't mind if he wanted to get it checked, so he called for a supervisor.
She went away with it and came back and said, "I am very sorry but we can only put it through for £15 as that is the maximum allowed for an APG"
I said that I thought that any vouchers issued before the cap would be OK.
She spoke to someone else and said "would you mind going to CS and to sort it out there."
"No problem" I said, so off we tootled to the CS desk.

The problem seemed to be, was whether the voucher was issued before or after the cap was put in place and none of the staff seemed to know when this was.

After a few phone calls the lady on CS said there was no problem with my APG and proceeded to put my shopping through the till, apologising all the time for having kept me waiting.

So, no hassling and very polite and helpful staff who unfortunately don't seem to have all the information they need, to sort out the problems there have been with some APGs.

I really don't think that A. head office has sent a memo out telling the staff to be unpleasant to anyone using APGs, I just think the staff haven't been told exactly what to look for so are all being a bit over cautious!

This was in the Blackp@@l store for anyone who is worried about using APGs in there:D

Wow.. that was a HUGE one!

I too picked the only youngish lad that was on the tills tonight.. the rest were all very suspiciously trout looking. Anyway, I used up loads of APG's, most were for 9.00 ish and one was for 12.00 ish - when said SA saw this he exclaimed, wow..i've never seen one that big... I showed him surprise and continued packing my shopping.. I told him the truth.. I go on mysupermarket and pick what is more expensive here and buy it... he was suitably impressed.. all the APG's went through, no probs.

I'd love to see his little face if he ever saw one as big as your's squiggs... ;)

Was this from last week cheesy ball? I seem to have not paid for the order I got last week either? The money was showing on my account as POS for nearly a week and today it has been credited back to my account.....strange

Yeah thats whats happened to mine too, its my delivery from last Friday. Did you complain about your order? Or was it all ok. I have spoken to 3 people about mine over 2 diff complaints. 2 of then said they'd refund delivery charge other put £5.50 in my account. Maybe they've given up :rotfl::rotfl:

Friday for me too. I did complain...it was the day the carling went back to full price. I got my carling despite not being able to find any in the store! Bill was £20 more than when I ordered. I phoned CS but got nowhere, so thought I'd wait until they took the extra £20 out and then take the beer back for a refund. But the extra £20 never came out and the original amount has now gone back in....go figure:cool:

My guessing is that they prob tried to take the whole amount after delivery, thats how they work, then credit the original amount back. I paid from an account I don't use much and left the exact amount needed to make up the bill. Saying that tho....wouldn't you think someone would have been in touch to say there's a problem?

I've left the money there for now in case they decide they do want it. And if they don't....well that's up to them really. everything on my account looks fine too

I have to say I've never had a problem in there at all squigs. In fact the SAs I have had seem genuinely pleased that I have managed to 'get such a big one' . I did have a young lass one day who squealed when I handed over a £14 odd one and insisted on showing the SAs on either side of her! which made me sweat a bit. I honestly think by the reactions I've had that they don't see a lot of APGs in there, well not high value ones anyway.

Incidentally, is there any reduced coffee in there? And if so have you left any:D:D....looking for filter stuff mainly. Thanks:)

I agree, the staff are all so friendly and helpful.:T
Yes there are some reduced filter coffees. The Asda Extra Specials RTC. 75p
I only got 4 bags, so there were loads left!:)

I hope you can get some.

Glad that Neosi is on the mend:T

Did my good deed for the day. Picked up a gold ring with a large stone in Xch Sainsbobs tonight and handed it in to cs. They were very surprised and thanked me for my honesty:o

Got some of those reed diffusers in the BS glitch, je suis disappoint.
I've tried several fragrances of them in different rooms but can't say they smell much at all. Glad I didn't pay the full 15 quid for them
Back in the lovely jubbly days of DTD price check I had *a few* of the airwick ones and they were pretty good.
