do the gas ones taste the same as cooking on a proper bbq though or is just like cooking on a big george foreman in the garden?

Ive never tried a gas one as thought you wouldnt get the true bbq taste or am i just a wee bit mad! :D

All of the BBQ taste and none of the potential burnt/raw food. Try BBQ'ing a dtd pork loin joint of a gammon joint or t/s cheap economy lamb chops. BBQ spare ribs (part cooked in coke in the oven first then marinated with homemade sauce) cooked whole then cut up as required, corn on the cob with chilli butter and homemade coleslaw mmmmm.

Use propane (red) gas as it doesn't freeze.

A couple of sides cooked in foil containers (with lids) on top shelf. Potatoes and onions sliced and layered, can also add peppers. Quartered mushrooms with shallots and herbs de provence then squirt with a little frylight or smear a little butter on the lid. Yummy.

For those that have the kleenex shine coupons, I am thinking of holding on to mine until after the 15th as then they are no longer half price and may compare to A's if they stay £1.50 at sada, therefore £1.50 back for each one on PP. Hope I am making sense.

that sounds like a plan - I am going to wait and see if anything develops as Andrex can't be very happy that there are problems with using them

Well probably some would disagree but I think it tastes the same as a normal BBQ. I was dead against it when Mrlala wanted one but now wouldnt be without. It's got all sorts of gizmos and gadgets on it and you can even cook a chicken on a rotisserie thingie(Not that he ever has, but he's a man and he likes his toys;)) If hes on his own he'll even nip out and cook his bacon on it because he says he doesnt know how to use the grill in the kitchen!!

With the plate on, it's especially good during a power cut. The whole cooked brekkie can be done very easily. Ditto using a pizza stone.

Just back from the school run and the poor co-op at the bottom of the hill in the village has been flash flooded. It's rained heavily for 10 mins and the water was gushing down the hill straight through their doors. The staff were stood on the till counters! There was an unfortunate few stranded in the car park surrounded by a moat!
