Basically got a non fault claim. Had the cosmetic work done, at the time I didn't really think too much about it, I thought that it was all cosmetic.

I got the car back today and found that the steering is off, the car pulls to the left quite a bit. on a straight road the sterring wheel well go a quarter of an hour left. So basically the top of the steering wheel that's meant to be bang on 12 o clock mark is about a quarter of the way to the 11 o clock position if you know what I mean.

That's not the "default" position, but what happens is, the steering wheels pulls left up to that position when I'm driving. I have to grab the steering wheel and keep it straight so that it drives straight. If i let it go then it will drive straight.

It's probably a tracking issue, and there are garages everywhere that do 4 wheel laser tracking. Is it too late to put that tracking into the claim because Albany have already sent the cost schedule to the third party insurer. Or can I still put this through?

Also I believe the repairs already done come quite close to 60% of the value of the car. I'm concerned that the tracking might tip it to 66% which I beleive is an automatic cat D. Is there a limit on the cost of the claim for a non-fault claim.

Take it back to the garage that repaired it, they will most likely have the tracking gear.

That is why some lightly damaged cars are written off. The assessor will have looked at the car worked out the total cost and then use his judgement to decide whether there could be other hidden problems. If he has any doubts he will write the car off and recoup most by selling as lightly damaged salvage thus shifting the risk to the new owner.

Our CAT D Panda was all repaired and up and running again when the gearbox packed in that was an extra few hundred pounds that was not anticipated.

I would do as paddedjohn suggests and let the garage discuss it with your insurer. They will not write it off now.
