Apart from Amazon - is there a site where students sell their old study books?

Try this site...
http://www.revolvingbooks.co.uk/cgi-bin/home.cgi
I have just joined this one and bought my first book...

I used http://www.abebooks.co.uk/
Some books can be quite cheap and some of it will be US based; but if you don't mind it, the best bargains can be had from there. If you're with quidco you get cashback too.
There's also http://www.academicbooktrade.co.uk/
Not as good a range as abebooks, but you might be lucky finding someone near your area and then you could avoid postage.0 -
you could try sending a mass email to all the people in the year above you and see if they have any books from last year. You could also see if there is a market place on your uni website that lists books and other things students are selling.0
