Since when do you you PAY to attend a book signing though ?
My local Waterstones seem to have a big name every few weeks -you might need to get a (free) ticket in advance but mostly it's show up and queue. John Barrowman was there a couple of weeks ago -and Roger Moore is due soon I believe -I've seen some very well well known pop stars do them too -and sometimes throw in a performance too-and it has never cost a penny (unless you count value of time spent queuing)I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Sorry everyone, already given the ticket away It is strange that you still have to pay for the book though!
If your in the Newport area, maybe if you are nearby anyway it may be worth doing your shopping there and oh, seeing if they can squeeze you in? There's 300 tickets I think and I can't imagine all of them will be turning up on the day? Just a suggestion.
