Missing Post x 13!

I have no clue where to post this! :o

I'm waiting for 11 prizes dating back till June this year, all from different companies/comps. I've managed to (finally!) get in touch with them all and they all claim that they have posted the prizes out. But I haven't received any of them!

So I though I'd try myself. Parceled up 2 empty boxes and took them down to the post office. One I sent via recorded delivery and the other through normal mail to myself. That was nearly 4 weeks ago and I haven't received them either!

I have no clue what is going on as I haven't changed address or anything like that!

This might be a long shot but if anyone has any suggestions I'd love the help!

That's odd. Do things like bills go missing too? In my case there is a village just outside my town with an identical street name to mine. Sometimes I get their post and vice versa.

If your parcel is recorded does it tell you online whether it has been signed for? I would check that if so. And contact Royal Mail asap. Maybe you have a dodgy postman.

Oh that's not good. Is there another street with a similar name? We have 3 here, one behind the other, called, street, road and place. Although the chances of everything being mis-delivered are slim. I suppose if you use a form filler you have your address entered into it correctly?

I would suggest getting in touch with Royal Mail head office to investigate. Maybe ask to do their postal surveys too and they can track the 'parcel' you should receive in the postal survey. I've had a few parcels go missing in the past but some I got sorted. Good luck.
Big thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone and be safe!

i'd do as the others have suggested, get in touch with the head office & ask for it to be investigated, it sounds very suspicious so should be reported to them x

That's really worrying, maybe Royal Mail will send some test mail too. Hope you get it sorted x

Agree with above, but just out of curiosity, do you know if sat nav works correctly for you? For us it's just a teeny bit out, i.e. when anyone sat navs us, it takes them to a road off of our road instead of to here. I had a delivery yesterday for someone in the 'crescent' whereas we're 'avenue'. Perhaps you have the same, but whoever is getting your parcels isn't as honest as we are? BTW, I have found Royal Mail to be very good at compensating for lost/damaged delivery. Though don't know if it would have to be the sender to claim, rather than you. Hope you get somewhere fast with this :)

  • Last year our local sorting office manager was jailed for stealing £14000 of customers' money, and her husband (who was a postman) was convicted of stealing £3000. Some of this was even from traceable Special Delivery envelopes. I hate to cast aspersions on the Royal Mail (as our own postie is brilliant, and I've never personally had a problem with them) but it could be the tip of the iceberg. As Wingobins, Fire**Fly and Nanto3girls have said, it needs to be reported ASAP. If people don't report suspected missing postage, it'll never be investigated and crooks like our local one might get away with even more thefts.

Well I don't know why you are posting here!
I would be right onto RM to raise a complaint!
Given the level of missing post and the fact mail you sent hasnt arrived,it needs flagged up ASAP.

one thing. main door or a flat? if a flat,do you use your flat number?
You can go via RM customer services and the complaint will be flagged up.
Or you can call and ask to speak to a manager directly

Thank you all for your suggestions. I have now contacted RM so hopefully will get it sorted.

The nearest street with the same name is in Birmingham which is about 30 miles away, so I really hope it's not that! I really don't won't to think it's my postie though, he's such a darling! :o

I live in a house not a flat would that make much difference?

    Thank you all again.
