Offer being considered???

Ok so u prob can't really help with this, but I need to vent

we viewed a house twice & put an offer in. Got rejected, upped it slightly, rejected again. Then agent called to say they would meet us half way, so an extra £2,500 for us & then they'd take it off the market.

We are proceedable. I said I needed to speak to my hubby, this was last tuesday.

Last weds AM, I phones & agreed the increase of £2,500 only to be told they'd had another offer which was another £2,500. Thereby £5k more than our last offer.

Agent said if we could match it it'd be ours.

Out of principle we declined & stuck to our £2,500 increase. I phoned back an hour later to decline & reconfirm our offer & our proceed able position. I spoke to the agents colleague as he was out of the office.

We thought it was a ploy to get us to offer more. The house has been on the market since the beg of the yr so seems unlikely to get 2 offers on the same day!!!

Anyway this was last weds & heard nothing since

They had another property come on the market so I called & spoke to another colleague on Friday to arrange a viewing. Whilst on the phone I asked if Xxxx had been sold. She put me on hold for ages & then came back, told me there was another offer of 225k & were awaiting proof of funds but we could still offer 225. I declined & confirmed our offer of 222,500.

So, I don't know where we stand. R they still considering our offer??

I know ur prob saying phone the agent but my hubby doesn't want me to. I've arranged other viewings for thurs but gutted as this house would hav been great.

Grrrrer

the vendor would be mad to turn down this new, higher offer!

    Seems fair.

    What principal...?

Seems clear enough. You have declined twice. They have declined your original offer. There is no deal or potential deal at present.
R they still considering our offer??No

If the house is 'so great', and you want it, increase your offer.

    Otherwise find a new house.

Next time try putting your best offer in writing, reiterating your strong position and supplying your conveyancers details. Ask for a written response.
