Sorry if this has been posted on here before, I looked but am woozy from strong painkillers atm. It looks like a very good idea but needs more publicity..
If your dog needs space for whatever reason tying a yellow ribbon to his/her lead is to warn other dog people of this. Its on FaceBook but here is a link to a mention of it elswhere - I'm not sure if a link to a FB page would work.

Good idea...but the dogs round here are a bit thick and wouldn't know what the yellow ribbon symbolised:)0 -

I thought dogs were colour blind?
Seriously it is a good idea but it depends how many people know what the yellow ribbon symbolises.
BTW whats a chugger?0 -
As I've said on other forums, good in theory but I have taken my dog out on a lead and muzzled, with a friend's dog on-lead and muzzled, skirting the edge of the water on a nearly empty beach and out of the miles they could have wandered (tide was out so we were a huge way away from the dunes too) we had a couple with their dog make a beeline straight for us. If muzzles don't work, I can't see yellow ribbon making a jot of difference to people like that - and they're the ones that cause problems, not the responsible ones who would pay attention to this kind of project.0
